Roses are red. April is grey. But in a few days… well, I’m sure you’ve seen the meme at this point. So, let’s just dive right into the April speedlink session, shall we? And… here… we… go!

As we were making our way down to Portland during our spring break road trip, we passed by another destination that has piqued our interest. Based on what Reg Lok Von has to say about it, we should definitely add Great Wolf Lodge in Grand Mount, Washington to our list of future family vacations. It sure looks like a lot of fun and it’s only about 1.5 hours south of Seattle.

And while I’m not completely convinced it would be the best candidate for a road trip, Benjamin Yong is a big fan of the 2019 Mini Cooper. More specifically, he recently had the opportunity to take the base 3-door model out for a spin. The third generation is five years old at this point, though the newest Cooper has received a “fairly significant facelift.” I’ve always been curious about the “go kart like fashion” that this “nimble and quick” car promises, even if it only generates 136 horsepower (but 162 lb-ft of torque).

Years ago, I wrote about the risks of turning a hobby into a business. At the same time, as Andy Hill discusses in his interview with Nick Loper, having a side hustle can be incredibly beneficial. The extra money is nice, to be sure, but Loper — host of the Side Hustle Show — says some of the best benefits have nothing to do with money at all.

Aaliyah told us that age ain’t nothing but a number. Meanwhile, I could be going through a midlife crisis in my mid-30s. Go figure. Joshua Wilner puts a few things in perspective as he stares down the barrel of turning 50. I didn’t really see 30 as that big of a deal, but I feel like 50 is a big one. But what does it even look like at this point? I mean, not all of him is technically fifty.

One thing I will say in my advancing age is that I can’t eat like I did when I was younger. All-you-can-eat late night sushi and devouring ten 59-cent McCheeseburgers are relics of the past. I need to eat better. On that note, Kat Petrunia offers up her recipe for rainbow vegetable and shrimp lettuce wraps. With mango, avocado, green leaf lettuce and more, it’s light, nutritious and delicious. And it’s so easy, even I think I can make it.
