What's Up Wednesdays: Feel the Force

As has become tradition around these parts, I’ve gathered up another collection of blog posts to share with you on this fine Wednesday. We start off with Brandee and her “one crazy kid” as they binge their way through Star Wars on Netflix. By the time her son Quentin was 4, he had already watched through two trilogies a few times over. After The Force Awakens showed up on Netflix a couple weeks ago, Brandee knew it was once again the beginning of the end. Oh look, there’s The Clone Wars too.

Are you finding that there aren’t enough hours in the day to accomplish all the things on your to-do list? Zac Johnson has pegged out 10 of the biggest things that could be killing your productivity. In my own experience, I’ve found that working from home can be rife with distractions and opportunities for procrastination. Are you wasting your time on snack breaks or with office gossip?

Looking for a unique family vacation idea? Kevin Wagar recently went glamping on Manitoulin Island in Northeastern Ontario. More specifically, they immersed themselves in the local First Nations culture at the Great Spirit Circle Trail. You could stay at motel or in an RV… or you could do like the Wagars and spend the weekend in a teepee. Don’t worry. They’ve got modern amenities too, like access to a refrigerator and a hot shower.

Sticking a little closer to home, Joyce Lam indulged her sweet tooth with some friends at Choco Coo Cafe in Coquitlam. In addition to her green tea latte with a foamy bear on top, they partook in a variety of cakes. Perhaps the most interesting of the bunch was the Matcha Mousse, which combined some red bean with a crispy wafer for a fun textural contrast. It looks really bright green in the picture too.

Last but not least, we join “St. Louis Dad” Richie Williams as he set up a lemonade stand for his daughter and niece. It wasn’t long after they opened up for business that the local police officers and firefighters showed up. No, they weren’t there to shut down the operation. They were there for some fresh squeezed lemonade!
