To think, what does Father’s Day mean to me?
It means reflecting on how my life changed
When I first held her in my arms, you see
Sleep deprivation leaving me deranged

And then along comes her little sibling
With his unique set of joys and stresses
Fatherhood is hard but so rewarding
Doing as best we can with best guesses

But Father’s Day is also bittersweet
As I think to when and how my dad passed
How, without him, my life is incomplete
The answers he’d given if I could have asked

All I want for Father’s Day is some reassurance
That we’re doing okay, the right things as parents
