“Oh, we’ve got lots of time.” I don’t know why we keep saying this to ourselves, for all sorts of things, only to realize the date is literally right around the corner. Just like that, we’re expecting Baby Kwan #2 to arrive any day now. On some level, we’re more prepared this time around, as it’s no longer our first time at the parenting rodeo. On another level, we’re less prepared, because we didn’t stress out as much about it during pregnancy. The good news, though, is that we still got some free baby stuff, like this London Drugs baby welcome package. I do like the price of free. Let me show you what we got.

You may or may not remember that we took advantage of several “free baby stuff” programs the first time around. The Nestle Baby free starter kit came with a diaper bag, a change pad and a bunch of other things. We also got some free starter formula from Enfamil and Similac, plus the Very Important Baby (VIB) package from Shoppers Drug Mart. I’ll have to see if these programs are still available. From what I hear, Loblaw’s converted the SDM one into a PC Optimum program.

That being said, as this is our second child, getting a bunch of samples to familiarize ourselves with products isn’t as important. I’ve learned more of the esoteric baby care jargon. We know how to change a diaper. What’s different this time around is I’ll actually be taking some paid paternity leave, so I won’t have to worry about work for a few weeks. That should help a lot. And, as far as I can gather, Addie is really excited to be a big sister, so she’s totally ready for baby’s arrival already.

But hey, who am I to turn down free stuff? This London Drugs baby welcome package is nowhere near as extensive or generous as the others we received, but it’s still something for basically nothing. All you have to do is fill out a short form on the London Drugs website. They’ll sign you up for the baby newsletter when you do.

Are there any other free baby stuff programs that I should know about?
