Our annual #5DadsGoWild camping trip would not be possible without the generous support of our sponsors. These are companies and brands that “get” what we’re trying to accomplish as active and engaged fathers, changing the narrative around what it means to be a modern dad. And so, I’d like to take a moment to highlight the #5DadsGoWild 2020 sponsors who we brought along on our little adventure.

Introducing the #5DadsGoWild 2020 Sponsors

I’ve included excerpts from each of the respective Instagram posts below. They’ll give you a taste of what each of the posts is about, but I highly encourage you to click through and read the full captions on Instagram too. You’ll also that a few of these Instagram posts have multiple photos, so you could definitely click/swipe to see them all as well.

House of Knives
That’s why my favorite #GiftedProduct from @houseofknives is this handy-dandy portable utensil set. It’s from the same Black Tusk brand as those cool folding knives I have (which are so good for opening packages, among other things). The Black Tusk Portable Utensil Set, shown here in orange, gives you a spoon, a fork, a knife and a bottle opener, all in one.

MAKE Vancouver
Seriously, how cool is this mug? We got a couple of awesome #giftedproducts from our friends at @makevancouver for the 5DadsGoWild trip. It’s all about customization and personal expression, letting who we are really shine through. That’s exactly what we got with this color-changing mug.

Thermacell
I will openly admit that I was skeptical at first. That’s why I brought along a couple other mosquito repellents for a multi-faceted defense strategy. But, I’ve got to tell you, after we set up the Thermacell Patio Shield by the picnic table at the campsite, the mosquitoes really did keep away. The Patio Shield provides a 4.5 meter by 4.5 meter coverage area, all without noise, odour, or any of that.

Nature’s Path
I know it’s easy to slide into the unhealthy snacks, both in the forest and in town, but Nature’s Path made it easy for us to eat something a little more healthy. They’re #FamilyOwned and #AlwaysOrganic, like with this instant oatmeal.

Blue Moose Coffee House
And with 2020 being what it has been, Blue Moose has also adapted to these new circumstances with a convenient mobile app. You can order and pay right from the app, earning points you can redeem for rewards. They send a push notification when they start preparing your order and when it’s ready for pick-up.

Mountainview Brewing Company
Before we ventured into the great unknown for #5DadsGoWild, we stopped by @mtnviewbrewing in Hope for a bit of a brewery tour. They’ve been hard at work getting this new craft brewery ready to open, and we got a behind the scenes sneak peek at the work in progress.

Hydro Flask
There’s nothing quite like a high quality water bottle. With this Hydro Flask, you get pro grade stainless steel, a sweat proof finish, and a comfortable grip in a BPA and toxin free package. TempShield double wall vacuum insulation keeps your drink cold or hot for hours.

Canadian Heritage Roasting Co.
The branding certainly plays up this connection to the Canadian wilderness, just like our 5 Dads Go Wild camping trip. Here you see the Grizzly blend, for example. That’s a medium roast that’s “bold but never bitter.” They describe it as “robust and savoury, espresso-like [with] unmistakable dark chocolate notes.” That sure sounds like my cup of tea…. er, coffee!

Thank You for Your Support!

Again, we’d like to extend our gratitude to all the #5DadsGoWild 2020 sponsors for believing in us and what we do. Even though I’m anything but an outdoorsy kind of person, I look forward to our nights in the woods every year. Even if we battle our way through rain, snow and mosquitoes. What’s life if not a challenge?

Here is the #5DadsGoWild 2020 vlog, in case you missed it earlier this week. It’s like you were there with us all along!
