As you may have heard, I was at GottaCon 2015 this past weekend. It is the largest LAN event in Western Canada (to my knowledge) with 350 seats and it celebrates just about every aspect of gaming culture, from mobile to console, trading card games to minis, cosplay to RPGs. There was even LEGO!
Attended by some 4,000+ people, GottaCon is a huge convention that continues to grow year over year. I was there as part of MEGATechNews and Futurelooks, running our gaming lounge in partnership with In Win Technology, be quiet! and Creative Sound Blaster.
While the stereotype would lead you to believe that events like GottaCon 2015 are dominated by young males, it was great to see the broad range of people coming through and having a great time. Moms and dads came with their younger children to play casual games, cosplayers checking out some great gear from the merchants, and tabletop enthusiasts connecting over their intricate little painted figures. It’s great!
The special board dedicated to Leonard Nimoy was particularly touching.
This is just a very small sampling of the pictures I took over the weekend, so do check out the Facebook photo gallery for more from GottaCon 2015!
