It’s Wednesday, so that means it’s time once again to go on a whirlwind tour of the blogosphere with our weekly speedlink. This week, most of the posts have something to do with travel, adventure or having fun.
We start our journey by visiting Tyler Ingram, who happens to be halfway around the world visiting the Pura Tanah Lot in Bali. That’s his photo above and this is one of the more iconic temples in the area. The cliffside setting is certainly picturesque, but it does mean you’ll have to get your feet wet to visit.
Next, we have Catherine Connors, better known on the Internet as Her Bad Mother. She writes about the treehouse they built, thanks to some inspiration from Pinterest. While it may not be as epic as some of the others she has spotted online, Catherine has every reason to be proud of this little escape among the trees.
If you like relaxing, there aren’t too many things better than going on a cruise. Stacey Robinsmith offers some words of advice on how you can make the most of your cruise experience, like packing a couple extra pairs of socks. I haven’t been on a cruise for five years, but I’d certainly like to go on another one. Maybe I should visit the Caribbean?
You don’t have to leave the city to have a good time. Jeremy Lim has some great photos from the International Pillow Fight Day in Vancouver earlier this year. It took place just outside the Art Gallery steps and you can see plenty of feathers flying! I’d hate to have been responsible for cleanup!
And finally, we have Rebecca Bollwitt. She’s collecting some great photos from Flickr of the SFU Burnaby campus. Did you know that Simon Fraser University opened way back in 1965? That’s not quite as old as my alma mater (UBC), but it has easily become one of Vancouver’s most treasured icons.
Thanks Michael!
I regards to Cruising.. I went on the Serenade of the Seas, with an inner stateroom. Looks like it was bigger than the one you were in for the Monarch. Next cruise I go on though, I won’t go less than a Balcony room.We were thinking perhaps the Caribbean too! Who knows!
I don’t really mind a smaller room on a cruise, since you’re really only in your room to sleep and shower. If you want to see the water, just go outside. đ
PS, I’m loving your series of photo posts from Bali. Keep ’em coming!
Isn’t Bali so beautiful and amazing? And its people, they are so friendly and beautiful.
I was there in November 2011 on a family vacation. We stayed in Kuta, and visited WaterBom Bali and the Bali Safari and wildlife park. It was a fantastic trip for us, and the children.
From the photos on your blog, Pura Tanah Lot is evidently so beautiful. Too bad we did not visit it last year. I will make sure not to miss it in my next trip.

I just wish I had the time to travel or just relax for a day. I’m taking on a 3rd job 10 hours a week doing a web site for a company, so I believe I now the equivalent of 2 full time jobs without the freelance consulting I do.
Your wednesday are always relaxing!
I always like the photo you attach on your articles đ
Nice and wonderful photo! I would like to go this cruise. Thanks for sharing this photo with us.
Thanks so much for the push, Michael! Cleanup was part of the protocol, so I think the local organizers had things covered. The feathers didn’t go too far, but some folks were stepping out into the Robson traffic …
