Sous Vide by Gourmet Fury

Every Wednesday, I take a stroll through the blogosphere to see what other bloggers have to say. As is usually the case around these parts, today’s collection is quite varied in nature. Enjoy!

Melody Fury, who provides the photo at the top of today’s post, gives us a glimpse into a beautiful home-cooked meal courtesy of her friend Weston. He created a sous vide rib eye steak, using a methodology that is quite uncommon to the home cooking environment. What a master chef!

D3so is trying to carve out his place on the web, but he has no trouble sharing some of that virtual real estate with you. Check out his recent post on how to start a blog. Starting isn’t all that difficult; it’s keeping it going after the honeymoon period.

Lesley Chang watches a lot of television, so she asks whether or not ratings are a thing of the past. Betshopboy reminds us that the best camera is the one that you have with you. In Betshopboy’s case, that happens to be his iPhone. He’s been having fun with two photo-centric apps: Hipstamatic and Instagram. I don’t foresee cell phones replacing real cameras any time soon, but they are getting a heck of a lot better with each generation.

Robert Park goes against some more conventional business thought by outlining why he loves instant messaging for work. It’s fast, it’s lightweight, and despite misconceptions to the contrary, it’s asynchronous. While you don’t need to reply instantly, it can be a little frustrating for some of us when you don’t.
