The Top Thinkers of Beyond the Rhetoric

While there are some notable repeats from July’s list of top thinkers, there are also a couple of new faces (or names) that are joining the list for August. This speedlink is my little way of giving back to the people who add to the conversation here on Beyond the Rhetoric.

We start off with the man who is perennially at the top of the list each month, Ray Ebersole. Whereas most students are starting to hit the books again this month, Ray finished his degree a little over a month ago. While he feels that receiving his AA degree is something he should have done 35 years ago, he’s glad that he is finishing this time, “for me, for my family.”

When most people train for marathons and other similar events, they think about how they can improve their performance and beat their competitors. Betshopboy does that too, but he also recognizes the importance of safety on the trail, especially considering that he may not have any human contact for hours at a time. Naturally, his smartphone is his number one gadget, but there’s a lot more to it than having your iPhone on hand.

Constantly keeping his finger on the pulse of Internet marketing and social media is Dot Com Pho regular Vance Sova. He recently observed some issues with the YouTube embed code on his site. When he used the “old” embed code with new videos, the videos would not display on smartphones, but the “old” embed code still displayed old videos on smartphones. It’s a weird quirk. For my part, I let WordPress work its magic when I paste in the simple URL instead.

The fourth and fifth spots are occupied by a couple of new folks, but speedlinking to them is a bit of an issue. The website provided by Sam just sends me to a generic parked page and Taz didn’t provide a site. Either way, I’m grateful for their comments and I’m glad they contributed to the discussion.
