Sunday Snippet: Henry Ford

“Whether you think you can or whether you think you can’t, you’re right.”

It’s all a matter of perspective, isn’t it? You could almost say that the above quote from the legendary Henry Ford is another variation on the self-fulfilling prophecy. Believe it to be true and you’ll probably make it true.

Sure, the “Blue Oval” might not be the mega-power than it once was in the automotive industry, but there’s no denying that Ford Motor Company — along with its Model T, Mustang, and countless other iconic vehicles — had a monumental impact on the way we get around. It also had a monumental impact on consumerism in general, thanks to the advent of the assembly line. All of this was largely pioneered by Henry Ford.

He thought he could do it and he was right. Instead of simply trying to make this way through the day, he took a gamble. Ford was playing to win and he did. Keeping a positive attitude and an optimistic outlook can get you through the rough patches, even if that optimistic outlook isn’t particularly realistic. Many of the world’s most successful people are much the same way. They make their dreams into a reality, even when the naysayers tell them it’s not possible.

Do you believe in yourself? Do you believe you can succeed? Will you live up to your potential?

    1. Ray Ebersole says:

You are only going to be as good as you think you are. Sometimes luck steps in the way and you get an outcome that you wouldn’t normally get. But, most of the time we will get the outcome that we believe we will get based on our own self opinion, determination and effort.
