As you may have heard, I’m currently on the Nokia N97 mini tour as it travels from Vancouver to Calgary, stopping in Salmon Arm and Banff along the way. We’re making our way aboard a Nokia-branded RV that we have so eloquently christened as the Minotaur (get it? Minotaur? Mini tour?), sharing our journeys with our Twitter followers and Facebook friends along the way.

So, it’s only fitting that today’s speedlinks highlights some of the people who will be my RV buddies, so to speak, for the next few days. Enjoy and keep an eye out for the big blue Nokia RV. If you see us, don’t hesitate to say hello.

First up, we have April Smith of AHA Media. She just may be the most “social media” active out of the bunch, streaming our adventures on Qik, updating her Twitter, and sharing thoughts on Facebook. The night before we headed out, April also went to the kickoff event in Vancouver. Check that out and follow her on Twitter: @AprilFilms.

Next, John Biehler is pretty active in the social media sphere too. In fact, he was over at WordCamp Vancouver 2010 last month, giving his talk on using MAMP/WAMP for offline WordPress development. He has a video embedded in his post of that, in case you weren’t around for it. Follow John on Twitter: @JohnBiehler.

My new friend Daniel is the man behind NokiaLove.com. As such, it only makes sense that he’s on this Nokia N97mini tour. He loves his Nokia N900, after all, but there’s more to this complex man than just Nokia smartphones. He also likes giant Atlas moth caterpillars too. And yes, there’s a video in that post of the massive caterpillar in action. Follow him on Twitter: @sick_spider.

Our gracious host from Nokia is Tom Hall. He’s originally from the United Kingdom, but he’s now putting the British in British Columbia via White Rock. However, his Canada experience hasn’t exactly been what he expected. There isn’t maple syrup oozing from the trees nor is there a a”bull moose atop the promontory.” You can go ahead and follow him too: @tomhall14.

Strictly speaking, Duane Storey isn’t coming with us on the Nokia road trip, but he did meet us for lunch in Chilliwack yesterday. That counts, I guess. It helps that he’s a self-proclaimed digital vagabond, having freed himself from the shackles of a 9-5 job. So to speak. He is certainly enjoying the “wealth” of freedom this lifestyle has provided him.
