Our Suite at Encore Las Vegas (Wynn)

January 9th, 2009 by Michael Kwan

Encore Las Vegas

While Stephen and I had to slum it out at the Imperial Palace our first night, we quickly upgraded ourselves to one of the newest developments on the Las Vegas Strip. Encore at Wynn Las Vegas is a nearly identical tower to the Wynn Las Vegas. In fact, the two hotels share many of their amenities and are connected by an indoor shopping center.

The biggest selling point for Encore Las Vegas, no pun intended, is that it does not have any room smaller than 700 square feet. Remembering that the typical low-end hotel room is only in the 400 square foot range, you are getting a lot more room at Encore. The seating area is not comprised of a couple of armchairs; you get a full L-shaped sectional couch. There’s also a separate desk to handle all your business and blogging needs.

As you may have heard, I’m in Las Vegas for CES, the Consumer Electronics Show. If you want to keep up with some of the latest gadgets, toys, and other fun pieces of technology, be sure to keep your browsers pointed to Mobile Magazine and Futurelooks.com to find my coverage. One of the highlights thus far has been the OQO Model 2+ UMPC, a full-fledged computer that can fit in your (large) pocket.

Anyhow, check out the video below to get a sense of what you can expect when you stay at Encore Las Vegas. Because it is owned and operated by the same people as Wynn Las Vegas, Encore provides much of the same high-end amenities at a (typically) high-end price. You get a massive bathroom, power drapes, remote lights, a full business center, multiple flat panel TVs (there’s on in the bathroom too), and other great stuff. This is easily an upgrade from the projects Imperial Palace.

    1. That is pretty damn nice. I arrive in Vegas tomorrow and we are staying at the Rio. We will have to party when I am there! Dot com moguls FTW!

    2. Although I’ve already been to CES twice, and will be joining you guys at COmputex in Taipei for the first time this year, I still have to admit I’m a little jealous. That’s a wonderful room, and it’s even cheaper then The Flamingo where I stayed last year, which is one of the best hotels in Vegas to stay at for it price vs location.

Dang, not a bad room at all, especially for the price. I had originally booked a suite at the Luxor for around 1800 for 7 nights but it was a little bigger than that one. I will certainly check our the Encore next year.

    4. The suite looks good. Sucks about the internet though :(

Wow, nice hotel room! That computer looks pretty sweet too! I wish I could convince myself that I need/can afford something like that :)
