It’s a little hard to believe, but yet another month has come and gone. Just as I did for September 2008, I figured that it would be worthwhile to take a look back at the month that was and where we can go from here.

October was a month where I was disappointed by Purolator again, but it was also a month where I had a chance to reflect on the good things in life too. Life is all about balance, I guess.

Top Commentators

Repeating his performance from last month, Nick is once again the most vocal commentator on Beyond the Rhetoric for October. The difference is that the race wasn’t nearly as close, with Nick coming up with nearly three times as many comments as his closest competitor. I’m glad to see some familiar faces, but it’s also nice to see Deborah make the list as well.

Greatest Sources of Traffic

One of the biggest reasons why I chose to start a blog in the first place was to spark a conversation. That’s why I certainly appreciate the comments that visitors leave, whether they be positive or negative. At the same time, it’s incredibly important that I have visitors in the first place, so I’d like to acknowledge the sites that sent the most traffic in October. I’ve left out any search engines and social media (like Twitter and StumbleUpon).

Most Popular Posts

So, what were people reading on Beyond the Rhetoric? While I try to keep things pretty eclectic around these parts, I’m glad to see that a couple of my more substantial posts made the top five. The business of professional blogging is near and dear to my heart, as is personal development. Naturally, the launch of the T-Mobile G1 Android Phone has drawn some attention to the Google Phone post that I wrote last year. The “leaked” design of 2007 looks a lot like the G1, wouldn’t you say?

Looking Ahead to November 2008

As you may have noticed from the traffic sources listed earlier, two of the main referring sites are actually freelance writing clients of mine. I’d like to improve the amount of referral traffic that I get from other blogs on the Internet, so be on the lookout for a contest that may address this very need. Think you can win?
