Video: A Homemade Roller Coaster

March 14th, 2007 by Michael Kwan

I’ll let the blotchy, somewhat slow-loading video above tell the story (lesson learned: don’t use Adbrite for your embedded videos), but I’d say that’s pretty cool. It’s far from being the most advanced roller coaster, but it only cost the engineering student about $5,500 in materials. Who knows how long all the construction and calculations took, but man, it’s pretty cool having a roller coaster in your own backyard.

Actually, FYI, AdBrite does not host the video files shown in their players, so you can’t blame them for the loading or the video quality (it’s on techblog). I use them and I’ve been totally happy. You could test it yourself before you jump to conclusions. -Anon
