Looking for something “cool” to do with the kids, Vancouver? You’re in luck, because Disney on Ice is coming to town with Mickey’s Search Party. Described as a “brand-new immersive ice skating experience,” Mickey’s Search Party combines some of our favorite classic Disney characters with newer stories like Coco and Moana.
I’ve never been to a Disney on Ice production before. I have, however, heard some truly “magical” things from friends who have taken their children to a show. The colorful action takes place not only on the ice — this time at Pacific Coliseum at the PNE — but also in the air and even in the seats. The aerial and acrobatic stunts will amaze both the young and the young at heart.
They’re calling them “multi-leveled performances” that will “immerse fans into the fantastic worlds of Disney Pixar’s” stories.
Look at this stuff! Isn’t it neat? The Vancouver run of Mickey’s Search Party only lasts four days, from Thursday, November 28 to Sunday, December 1, 2019. Given this, it’s in your best interest to get tickets early. It’s going to be a popular show for sure.
As we look ahead to Frozen 2 — which is actually set for release a few days before Disney on Ice on November 22 — I’m sure this segment of the show will be a highlight for Addie. She’s right at the perfect age to fully experience the magic of a live Disney production. It’s going to be a very Disney couple of weeks for us!
With Mickey’s Search Party, Mickey and his friends are following Captain Hook’s treasure map, looking for clues to find Tinker Bell. Their rescue mission takes them everywhere from Coco’s Land of the Dead to the kaleidoscope of crystals in Elsa’s ice palace, from Belle’s enchanted chandelier to a fiery encounter with Te Ka.
The show also features Aladdin, Toy Story and The Little Mermaid. Yup, you’ve got a friend in me for this “all-out magical celebration!” We’re still saving up our doubloons and planning our inevitable trip to Disneyland. We have, after all, been staring at the edge of the water for as long as we can remember already. (You’re welcome.)
