And just like that, almost faster than a blink of an eye, it’s already the middle of March and Healthy Family Expo 2018 is this Sunday! It’s a positively massive event that’s meant to be fun and entertaining for the whole family, including plenty of activities and entertainment that’s all included in the ticket price. Oh and samples. So many food samples.
To give you a whirlwind sense of what Healthy Family Expo is all about, here’s the vlog from last year’s event in case you missed it the first time around.
At this fifth annual event, we can expect over 200 exhibitors, over 12,000 attendees, free concerts from Bobs & LoLo and Jessie Farrell, the Whole Foods Market Zone with over 75 exhibitors offering free samples, the Green Living Zone with interactive displays, free face painting, the Vancouver Aquarium AquaVan, and a $12,000 grand prize showcase.
While 2017 was my first year as a blog ambassador with Healthy Family Expo, we had attended both of the two years before that as members of the media.
For my part, and this is something that I touched on in the vlog above, every year has been so different for us, because Addie has been so different each year. We went from investigating cloth diapers to balance bikes to healthy toddler snacks. She is much more aware of characters like Super Why and Daniel Tiger now, for instance, and she’ll get to enjoy more of the massive 35,000 square foot Active Kid Zone this time around. Last year, she did a lot of coloring.
Tickets are available for purchase now through the Healthy Family Expo website. The early bird rate of $15 for adults ends tomorrow (it goes up to $20 after that) and you are highly encouraged to pick one of the only 200 VIP tickets ($44.95 each) for added perks like a guaranteed Metro Vancouver Summer Family Fun Package ($100+ value) and the ability to skip the line at the Expo entrance. Kids up to the age of 16 are free.
And don’t forget to attend the Pre-Expo Facebook Party on the HFE 2018 event page on Facebook. It’s going down tomorrow night (Thursday, March 15) at 8 pm Vancouver time. Over $3,000 in prizes are up for grabs from such partners as Toyota Canada, London Drugs, Cypress Mountain, The World of Kidtropolis, and Nature’s Path Organic Foods and many more.
Healthy Family Expo 2018 is at the Vancouver Convention Centre East (under the sails) on Sunday, March 18, 2018. It runs from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. The first 200 adults through the door get a pass to Cultus Lake Water Park ($30 value) and the first 500 get a shot at winning one of 25 door prizes.
