Something that I’ve said before and I likely will say again is that travel is one of the best ways to spend your money. It may feel awfully tempting to spend your money on shiny new gadgets or a spiffy new outfit, but the memories and experiences you gain through international travel are invaluable. The wanderlust is strong once you’ve been bitten by the travel bug.
In the last few years, I’ve engulfed myself in Italian culture in Florence and I’ve encountered the wild animals of the Australian Outback. I’ve also survived the Great Wall of China, indulged in the night markets of Taipei and stepped into the past with the Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza and Tulum. But there is so much more of the world I want to see with my own eyes and experience first-hand.
The following list of travel destinations can be best described as eclectic. I want to visit everything from a giant video arcade to an historic theatre, from amazing castles to the statue of a fictional boxer. Some are clearly more easily attainable than others.
In no particular order…
- Aurora Borealis (Yellowknife, NT)
- Quebec Winter Carnival (Quebec City, QC)
- Berlin Wall (Germany)
- Globe Theatre (London, England)
- LEGO Museum (Denmark)
- Galloping Ghost Arcade (near Chicago, IL)
- Edinburgh Castle (Scotland)
- Cedar Point (Sandusky, Ohio)
- Bali (Indonesia)
- Angkor Wat (Cambodia)
- Seoul (South Korea)
- Hanoi (Vietnam)
- African Safari (TBD)
- Colossi of Memnon (Egypt)
- Montego Bay (Jamaica)
- Savannah (Georgia)
- Hokkaido Island (Japan)
- St. John’s, NL (Canada)
- Machu Picchu (Peru)
- Mosques of Istanbul (Turkey)
- Cape Malay (South Africa)
- Michael Jordan Statue (Chicago, IL)
- Rocky Steps (Philadelphia, PA)
- Parthenon (Athens, Greece)
- Antarctica
Have you been to any of the places on my list? Do you have any advice or tips? And what’s on your “wanderlust” bucket list? If money were no object and you had no other obligations, where would you want to go first?
You have posted an inspiring list of places to visit. Hanoi Vietnam is one on my list as well. And Scotland. I want to see the magic of where Scotch whiskey comes from.
I’ve been to 7,23, and 24.
I’d love to do more traveling. I did alot in my single days. but between budget and time, not much happening on that front.
My wife and I both talk about getting to the Canadian Rockies. I think we will one day.
I’ve been to Banff and Jasper a few times. It’s gorgeous out there. Take the time to visit some of the random lookouts off the highway. I posted a couple videos from a few years back:
