When I publish my Christmas wishlist on this blog each year, I don’t really expect anyone to buy anything for me. These lists are inherently filled with a number of consumer-centric “wants” and they have very little to do with my “needs.” That being said, I did buy myself two of the items from last year’s wishlist and, while it took quite a bit of time, all of the items from the 2010 wishlist were eventually acquired (with a few suitable substitutes).
And so, as I sit down to write this year’s wishlist, I do so with very little in terms of expectations. While some of these items are certainly for my own self-indulgent enjoyment, I’ve also included a few items for my little baby daughter too. After all, the best Christmas gift that I could possibly receive this year has already arrived and I just want her to stay happy and healthy.
Let’s get started.
SONOS PLAYBAR Wireless Streaming Soundbar – $699
I think I’ve had this item on this wishlist for quite some time already, given that I’ve never really had a proper home theater setup in my living room. I’d really rather not deal with running cables everywhere and I really enjoy the wireless streaming capabilities built into this expanding ecosystem, so the SONOS PLAYBAR could be quite the perfect fit. Then again, I’m also “due” for a new TV and this soundbar would also go great with the SONOS SUB.
ASUS MeMO Pad 8 ME181C-A1 Android Tablet – $149
Earlier this year, I sold my Sony tablet with the intention of switching to an 8-inch Android tablet instead. One of the more affordable options in this range is the generally well-received ASUS MeMO Pad 8. For a little more money, I’ve also taken a look at the Apple iPad mini 2 and the NVIDIA SHIELD Tablet, both of which certainly have their merits (but at twice the price).
Struggle Black Tee – $28
Those of you who know me under more of a casual context will know that I really like funny, geeky and unique t-shirts. I already have a couple of Street Fighter-inspired designs, for example. I’m also a big fan of the Excellent Adventures of Gootecks and Mike Ross series on YouTube, which is why the Struggle black t-shirt from Broken Tier is on my wishlist. Indeed, the struggle is very real.
Creative Tart Super Smash Selfie Print – $20
We don’t have much in terms of decorations for Adalynn’s nursery and I would like to change that slowly over time. I particularly like the Super Smash Selfie print design from Creative Tart on StoreEnvy, as well as the print she has of a cartoon Harley Quinn. We’ve also considered a number of decals, like the Winnie the Pooh Wall Sticker or some designs involving Totoro.
My Neighbor Totoro Soft Rug – $8
And speaking of the famed Miyazaki cat, we’d also like to have a soft mat for Adalynn’s nursery too, especially when sje starts playing on the ground herself. One option we considered is the My Neighbor Totoro forest mat. It’s cute and simple with the grippy rubber padding on the underside to prevent slippage.
Most of the items described above are a part of my wishlist on Amazon, a list that continues to grow and change over time. There’s always something that I want.
Now, I turn to you: If you could ask for anything from jolly ol’ Santa Claus, what would it be?
