I’m not going to comment on the fearmongering and systemic paranoia that followed. I’m not going to say how this created a culture of unfair discrimination or over a decade of unnecessary warfare. What I will say is 9/11 has, if nothing else, reminded us of the preciousness and fragility of life.

I always tell my family I love them when I leave the house. I to make sure that if it is the last time I see them that they have that as the memory of me.
