Some people will tell you that it’s not the most exciting way to travel and that may be true, but hopping on a cruise ship can represent one of the better values you can get when you want to see the world. For not much more than a modest hotel room, you’re offered meals, amenities and entertainment, along with “free” transportation to several ports of call. And that’s a big reason why we chose to do the Eastern Caribbean cruise a few weeks back.
Last week, I put up a quick video tour of our stateroom on board the Carnival Victory and today I’m following up with some more shots from the boat itself. As I mentioned in the previous post, the Victory is starting to show its age, but you still get a decent theater, several dining options, cheesy karaoke and a casino. Yes, they try to nickel and dime you with beverage purchases, spa treatments, on-board shopping and excursion opportunities, but those are all optional.
While I have already written on where we ate in Miami, I may write up another post in the near future detailing some of the food that we ate on the Carnival Victory itself. It wasn’t stellar, but we did get lobster on formal night. That’s not too shabby, right?
You mean video recording is not prohibited inside the casino?
