It has been some fifteen years since I was last in New York City. I was still a teenager at the time and I was exploring the Big Apple with my parents. We went to all the usual tourist spots, like the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building. This trip, though, was entirely different.
We were invited by the good people at Western Digital for the unveiling of their brand new MyCloud family of products. You can learn more about that via the video we did for MEGATechNews. For our very brief stint in New York, we stayed at the Four Points by Sheraton in Chelsea. The room had some high-class touches, to be sure, but it was not as large as the Hilton Bellevue and nowhere near the giant suite at Hotel Embassy Suites LAX South. This is Manhattan, after all.
When it comes to most premium hotels, you expect them to charge you for just about everything. They understand that if you’re willing to spend more on a room, you’re likely also willing to spend more on other things. This is why it surprised me that we were provided with free Wi-Fi, as well as complimentary bottles of water. That’s a nice touch.
As per tradition around these parts, I’ve put together a quick video tour of our hotel room at the Four Points by Sheraton in Chelsea. We were on the ninth floor (each floor only has eight rooms) overlooking West 25th Street. They were in the middle of renovations, but I’d say that we had a very pleasant, albeit brief stay.
That was one of the smallest rooms I have seen in your videos Michael. Not much space at all, just enough to get by. I would say that it is really a room for one that they stuff two people into.
It was easily sufficient. This is Manhattan, after all.
Yes, Manhattan….but normally anything in NYC is overdone and overblown. But it still looks small.
