Not surprisingly, I received a little bit of a negative backlash from the fake contest I announced for April Fools’ Day. It was not my intention to upset anyone; it was supposed to be in good fun. That doesn’t mean that I don’t do giveaways anymore. In fact, there are no fewer than two contests that I am running right now.
Ironically enough, neither is here on Beyond the Rhetoric (though I have hosted multiple contests on this site in the past). So, what can you win?
First, I’m giving away a custom bobblehead on Hadouken Online, my fighting games blog. Yes, that’s a custom bobblehead, meaning you can get your likeness on one of those figures, including the ability to choose its body. To enter, you need to like Hadouken Online on Facebook and share the contest link. That giveaway is open for entries until April 20.
Over on MegaTechNews, we’re giving away three Zalman gadgets. This is probably the geekier of the two contests, since it involves a set of clip-on notebook speakers and a pair of external hard drive enclosures. The cool thing is one of those hard drive cases acts as a virtual ISO drive, meaning it can show up on your computer as a CD/DVD/Blu-ray drive. Pretty neat.
To enter that contest, you’ll need to follow a couple of Twitter accounts and send out a specific tweet, as outlined in the contest post. That’s easy enough to do too and entries are open until April 12.
Giveaways are always a lot of fun. Good luck!
Not into bobbleheads, so I wish everyone well in that contest. AS for the other, I’ve been entered in that for a while. Could use some of that swag….
Cool prizes for the MegaTechNews contest but too bad I’m ineligible to take part.
I dont like BobbleHeads much….but good luck to the future winners. đ
Is the contest still open? I would love to participate in the contest.
The MTN one is closed, but the bobblehead from Hadouken Online is still open.
