Late last year, I had the situation forced on myself to buy a new digital camera and I ended up with the Olympus E-PL1. For the most part, I’ve been quite happy with this camera and I look forward to playing with a few different lenses.
You might also notice that I highlight recent pictures from my Flickr photostream at the bottom of this blog. Some people might miss that and pictures quickly get pushed off as more photos get uploaded. So, I thought I’d highlight a few photos from the last little while.
These first three pictures come from a recent “photowalk” that I took at Queen Elizabeth Park in Vancouver. The duck pond is a great place to relax with some feathered friends. You’ll also notice that a lot of other photogs hang out by the fountains in the center of the park, along with plenty of dogs.
Over the holidays, I received a betta and a golden snail as Christmas gifts from my fiance. Given the lower light conditions in my office, taking their pictures has been somewhat challenging, but the resulting depth of field can make for some intriguing shots.
Just as I share with my followers on Twitter, my friends on Facebook, and my subscribers on YouTube, I also go through my contacts on Flickr. Here are a few highlights from their respective photostreams.
As always, you can click on any of the thumbnails to see larger versions and visit the photostreams of the respective photographers. A picture really is worth a thousand words, don’t you think?
I’m always checking up on the pictures. They are always very nice and very professional. It’s nice to see them featured in the blog.
Love the lighting and quality of the photos, really like that Lion photo! I do think pictures are worth 1,000 words, and sometimes even more 😉

Those are some excellent photos. I love that last one with the golden snail looking like it’s in secluding itself away from the light and retreating away into the shadow, perhaps to catch a nap. 🙂
These are Excellent Photos. I love the lion photo. Thanks a lot for sharing. The Photos are superb quality.
Loved the photos Michael, thanks so much for sharing them. My favorite has to be the first one. It kinda reminds me of where I grew up.
