In the eyes of some people, I’m still a very young man at the age of 26. However, I feel that in my slightly advanced age, time seems to go by much more quickly. It feels like only yesterday that I was snowed in for Christmas Day and now we’re already halfway through our summer. The mercury continues to rise, the cold drinks continue to flow, and I’m still here committed to writing a new blog post each and every day. And you’re here to chime in with your thoughts as well.
As I do with every other month, I’d like to take a moment to acknowledge the readers who voice their opinions on this blog. For the last two months, I integrated my Top Thinkers shoutout with my What’s Up Wednesdays speedlink. Wednesday is quite some time away, so I thought it would be better to do this sooner rather than later. This way, we can leave July behind us and move on to a happy and healthy August.
Even though there was no official contest for the most comments, it seems that there was quite the intense (possibly unintentional) battle for the top spot in July. These two gentlemen engaged in a rather lengthy conversation with one another yesterday and as it turns out, the very close comment race ended in a tie.
Snagging the co-first spot with 86 comments is Ray Ebersole. He has already won a couple of contests here on Beyond the Rhetoric, but it doesn’t take some free swag to motivate Ray. He tells me that he enjoys the content here and I appreciate reading his takes on my blog posts.
Also taking the co-gold medal with 86 comments is dcr, the guy that you may know a little better as Dan C. Rinnert. He certainly has a lot to say, averaging nearly two comments here each and every day (he had over 20 comments on the last day). Thanks for your support, Dan!
Rounding out the list of the top five thinkers on BTR for July are betshopboy, Ben Pei, and Angie. They have a lot of thoughts to share too and are very worthy of a “top thinker” title. Thanks again!
Go out there and enjoy the rest of your (long) weekend. Cheers.
I like the pic you used in this post.
Thanks for the link.
Just imagine the number of comments you would have gotten had there been a comment contest last month. π
Commenting yesterday worked out as a good break from regular writing. Having recently finished a rather lengthy eBook, it’s been a struggle to recover and get back into writing. But, after last night’s commentfest, I went on to write 1 and 3/4 articles. π
I’m glad that our discussion helped your writing. I’ve been waiting for someone to jump in with me to discuss things here, even if we go off on tangents.
Seems to have been a temporary effect. I still haven’t finished the remaining 1/4 of that article. π I did finish a website, though, so that has to count for something.
Problem is I’m stuck doing non-fiction and I’d really like to get back to scifi.
Thanks for the link, again! The content is always good and the feedback is the same. IT is nice to have someone else that will actually comment and discuss with me.
As I move into the school year I will be starting back to my own blog a few times a week. I have let it go as I do each summer when the teachers leave for their “summer vacation.” I can never come up with relevant subject matter when I’m doing projects over the summer and can’t use the teachers and their use of technology in the classroom as examples.
Keep up the writing Michael. I look forward to your posts daily, kinda like reading my Dilbert in the morning. π
Thanks for the shout out!
Was wondering where some of those “Top Thinkers” who “spam” your earlier contest for the most comments had gone to?
I am thinking ……….
