One of my favorite podcasts used to be The 1Up Show. It was a great weekly feature that discussed some of the latest offerings and news from the video game world. While I keep up with video games via a few blogs, like Joystiq and Kotaku, watching the video each week was a real treat. The guys who did the show were always interesting, insightful and honest. You know, like Dot Com Pho.
In case you didn’t hear, the 1Up Show was canceled when 1Up was purchased by UGO.com. The production team was laid off and we thought that the 1Up Show was dead. Thankfully, some of the key players got back together to start their own site (Area5.tv) and weekly online show (Co-Op).
For some reason or another, I haven’t spotted Co-Op through the iTunes Podcast directory yet, so I’ve subscribed to their YouTube channel instead. If you are a fan of video games, I recommend that you give these guys a look (if you haven’t done so already). Embedded below is the second episode, which was uploaded yesterday afternoon. New shows come out every Friday. Enjoy!
My reading and spare time is spent on tech feeds and research. I need to keep up with the latest in the tech field. I wish I could spend more time in the video game area as I think it is a great way to refresh the mind, keep alert and fine tune your thoughts.
It’s the same thing as exercising the mind with a crossword puzzles.
Speaking of crosswords, that reminds me of the anger/rage issue in that other post. I just can’t do those puzzles for some reason!
You know the crossword puzzles get harder each day of the week until the Sunday paper when they are just for the old geezers that have the time to sit with the paper all day.
Sunday’s are easy, huh? That’s good to know… I’ll start with those to build up my confidence. lol
Actually, Sundays are by far the most difficult. The easiest ones are on Monday. The same can be said about Sudoku puzzles, if your local paper runs those too.
I guess I didn’t make myself clear. Sunday is always the hardest, that is why I said that the old geezers have the time to sit and try to figure them out. They are just too hard on Sunday.
Of course I consider Monday the start of the week because Sunday is my only true day off.
I misunderstood you. Sorry.
Speaking of hard puzzles, don’t even get me going on Sudoku. I don’t know how people manage to do those. Maybe I’ve just never taken the time to learn, but I find them impossible. Or maybe it’s just how my brain works. :p
