Wow, this week in the NFL was pretty messed up. We saw a number of streaks come to an end and there were plenty of surprises on the scoreboards. As a result, my football predictions weren’t nearly as accurate as they have been in previous weeks. For Week 6, I barely squeezed my way to getting half of my picks correct.
Perhaps the biggest story was that the hopelessly hopeless St. Louis Rams actually came away with a victory, thus ending the winless streak that they’ve been suffering so far this season. Unfortunately, it was at the expense of my up-and-coming Washington Redskins, a team — led by Jason Campbell — that I thought could cover the 13.5 point spread. Oh boy, was I wrong! Then again, I don’t think anyone saw this coming.
New England continued its losing ways, Houston got its first win of the season, and the Super Bowl champs suffered their first loss at the hands of the unlikely Cleveland Browns. This week was seriously messed up!
The only undefeated team left is the Tennessee Titans (5-0), which had a bye this week. What Ed Lau wants to see, though, is for a team to go the entire season without a single win. There’s still hope for that from the Cincinnati Bengals (0-6) and the Detroit Lions (0-5). Somehow, I think the latter is more likely.
Good thing you didn’t have any money on it this week huh? I agree that the results this week are kinda screwy and there some unexpected surprises and outcomes! Oh well, all the better to teach a lesson to those people who are using your picks to try and make money 🙂
That’s not very nice of Ed to wish back things on people and teams, but I do agree that it would be interesting to see that happen; almost as interesting and exciting as if the Patriots would have won the Super Bowl last year!
