You may have noticed that I write a fair bit about freelance writing and working from home. While it is certainly appealing to have a relative level of flexibility when it comes to my work schedule, it is also important to take some time off and away from the computer. It’s just not healthy to take on a full work load seven days a week.
So, how do I spend my days off? Seeing how it’s Sunday, I’m going to be watching a lot of football and I might get in a couple of sessions on my recently acquired Xbox 360.
Yesterday, I got together with Jason Landals for lunch at Pho Tau Bay in Edmonton’s Chinatown. We have quickly determined that it simply is not possible to find the best Asian food here; instead, you just seek out what is the best in town. Reading a few reviews online, Pho Tau Bay sounded pretty good. Interestingly, all they serve is pho. There are no spring rolls, salad rolls, rice, or anything else. Talk about hyper-specialization!
How did I spend the rest of my day? You’ll have to watch the video to find out.
Meanwhile, back at the Vancouver area’s Pho Richmond, a few of the Dot Com Pho regulars got together with a couple of pho newbies for lunch. They experience what the restaurant markets as AAA beef and, in my experience, the beef at Pho Richmond is better quality than what you get at most pho places. They’ve also got an eerily familiar gadget of the week. It’s almost like we’ve seen something like it before. Hmm…
