You may have noticed that at the end of every post now, I have implemented a new advertising network. Way back in the day, I used to run 468×60 Google Adsense blocks in the footer. You’ll still see that in some of the older posts I have. Later on, I moved on to AuctionAds and I’ve been running the eBay affiliate ads at the footer for a month or two. Their performance there has been mediocre at best, so I’ve tried moving them to the header and the sidebar.
What do you do when you find an ad network isn’t performing? You find a new one of course!
I’ve been asking John Chow about the TTZ Media Network for quite a while now, and he’s been telling me that he has people working on it so that blogs that aren’t quite the same stature as John Chow dot Com can get in on that cash flow. Well, it seems that I’m a beta tester for the “new” ad network, along with Jeff Kee.
It’ll be interesting to see how those “tech deal” ads do on a site that doesn’t get a million-gazillion hits a day. It’s a little unfair to compare the income level of a blog like mine to the five-figure-each-month income of Chow. Yes, I’m a guinea pig, but at least it doesn’t involve any invasive procedures… at least I hope it doesn’t.
Good for you Mike, hope the venture works out well and makes you tons of money! Good Luck…
Great, I’m looking forward to your numbers comparison between AuctionAds and TTZ at the end of the month.
Yep, would definatly like to see how it does. And even if the results arent great you could still put them on older posts that go on the front page.
Hey Michael Would you like to do a guest post on http://www.mubinahmed.com? Let me know.
I guess your success with TTZ depends on how interested in electricals/technology your readers are.
The key to success when it comes to advertising is relevance – if your ads are relevant to your audience your ad campaigns will be far more successful.

It will be interesting to see the results. The ads do not seem to be contextual so I do not see a high click rate, but I’ve been wrong before. Let us know how they perform in a few weeks.
Hmmm TTZ shows mostly cameras and ipods on JC’s blog..Its good that JC is willing to bring TTZ to more bloggers
Yeah I’m testing them out on my blog too, and they have been on ThinkComputers for a while now
How is it doing Michael we are hoping a post on the results after this month…
How about a mid-month update on TTZ and AA performance?
Only four clicks all month so far. No idea how much they’re worth yet.
