As Beyond the Rhetoric continues to grow and evolve, it’s starting to get accepted into programs for which it was once not eligible. For example, it wasn’t that long ago that I was accepted by ReviewMe. Some time afterwards, I got promoted on their front page as a hot blog. I’ve had limited success through ReviewMe, but now that I’ve been accepted by their sister program — Text-Link-Ads — I’ve found another way to make money online.

Thankfully, this doesn’t take away at all from the reader experience. You won’t get any ugly pop-ups or annoying animated banners that yell at you. Instead, you’ll notice that at the top right part of this blog, there is a section called “Featured Sites.” It’s been sitting there for a while now, being promoted through AdVolcano. The system is identical with Text Link Ads, except they have a much larger market share. This is akin to the relationship between the lesser-known Blogsvertise and the more prominent PayPerPost.

Text Link Ads

If you haven’t signed up for Text Link Ads, I highly recommend it. After all, there’s no harm in trying. The one rather major caveat that you have to keep in mind, though, is that they are pretty selective with who they accept into the program. I applied several months ago and only now have I been accepted. Even ReviewMe let me in the door before TLA did, so if you’re just starting out, you may not get into the program.

But don’t let that discourage you. This can be a positive in two ways. First, it will give you added motivation to work on promoting your blog and creating quality content. These should be your primary concerns anyways, because a personal blogger should never sell out to make a quick buck. Second, you can still make money through TLA using their affiliate program. Refer a new advertiser or publisher to them and collect a cool $25.

Go on, check them out.
