I woke up this morning and went through my usual routine of perusing the different blogs I have bookmarked on my Google personalized homepage, when I discovered a post by Kumiko Suzuki stating that she had been inexplicably banned from Adsense. The reason that Google gave her was that “invalid clicks and/or impressions have been generated on the Google ads on your site(s).” Yup, click fraud. I haven’t known Kumiko all that long, but I’m pretty confident that she had nothing to do with elicit activity, so maybe someone was just out to get her, clicking on ads all day to get her banned. Who knows. In any case, Kumiko refuses to give up and her “cash quest” will continue.
In what may be the most interesting turn of events, however, Suzuki has replaced the 160×600 Adsense skyscraper she was running in the left column with “Ads by Kumiko”, wherein she will place a banner advertising a blog or site that has been supporting her quest to make money online. I feel honored that she decided on Beyond the Rhetoric to be the first “free” ad, creating a fairly unique banner based on the one you see at the top of this site.
Yup, that’s me on the left. What you don’t see in that image is the fun caption she placed at the bottom (in pink, no less).
“Girls love to have ‘Michael Kwan’ whispered in their ear…”
– Kumiko
That made me blush, just a little. Anyways, I’m sure that Kumiko will rally back from this and continue to make plenty of money online through other ad networks. What other blog can get away with that much pink?
Kumiko’s a hottie.
So whats Kumiko’s next plan…..
I too have read her blog and don’t think shell do such a thing..
I think she’ll be looking into other ad networks like AuctionAds, YPN, Bidvertiser, etc.
Yeah that sucks! Haters always come and try to hold you back when things start to get good for you. I hope that she succeeds with other ad networks. There’s this one plugin I’ll have to search for it but it let’s you ban certain ip’s from even viewing your page or clicking on the ads. I’ll find it and let everyone know what it is and give a link.
“Girls love to have ‘Michael Kwan’ whispered in their ear…”
Yes, they find it quite helpful because they know exactly who to avoid.
Yup, ’cause Michael’s a bad boy.
Michael whats all about the un announced makeover of your site…
BTW I loved your previous theme…
Whoa. I don’t know what happened to my blog (I did not do this redesign… I’ll look into it.)
UPDATE: Fixed!
another motivating post for kumiko. let’s all post about this to give her backlinks and support.
Interesting, I’ve seen her profile picture on a Japanese personals site, and the person was someone who couldn’t speak much English at all. I think “Kumiko” is as fake as a 3 dollar bill.
It’s true!! I’m really John Chow! Haha…I’m so evil..
Kumiko
Well that’s an easy one! If she’s not a “fake” then all she simple needs to do is prove it…which is so easy to do for the genuine article.
Kumiko?
Shine on,
Aaron
What I really found interesting in some of the posts on Kumiko’s blog that commented on her AdSense banning were the number of folks who just don’t “get” Google. “Google bans blogs who get successful too fast”. Hello, Google only pays AdSense from the income they receive from AdWords … so they love to pay out. Every cent that Google pays an AdSense publisher they have collected at least twice as much for from an AdWords advertiser, so the more they are paying the more they are making … the money paid by AdSense doesn’t come from some special fund that Google doles out sparingly, it comes as a percentage of the money Google is raking in.
Anyway, as far as Kumiko’s verisimilitude? I too have seen that picture elsewhere. I lived in Tokyo a few years and there are some things about Kumiko that don’t exactly “ring true” … but then she does claim to have been raised in New York … so how would I know? Most of her articles and comments make sense though, so personally I don’t care if she’s really some fat 50yo guy in Iowa.
