I know, I know, I know. You probably saw this one coming a mile away… or at least up to seven days away. As I mentioned in last week’s vlog, I’ve been at this “one new vlog every week” for a whole year now and I’ve learned a lot along the way. Like how hard it is to do this every week for one whole year. Last week, I shared highlights from the first 26 episodes. This week, we take a look at the second 26 episodes. Enjoy!

They say that one of the reasons why you should keep a journal is so you can revisit your thoughts and perspectives after some time has passed. You can see how much your mindset or outlook on life has changed. And it doesn’t even take that long to notice these changes either.

As I made my way through all of these vlogs looking for highlights, I found that I participated in a lot more self-reflection in the second half of the year than I did during the first half. I’m not sure if that was better or worse, necessarily, but I did feel like I was putting more of me “out there” for the world to see (and scrutinize).

For instance, I tackled some more serious subject matter as I shared my thoughts on my midlife crisis and how it is impacting my day-to-day existence. I opened the floor to questions with an Ask Me Anything episode and shared ten things you may not have known about me.

It was also during the second half of the year that I finally got around to publishing my new book. For that vlog, I decided to read the introduction to Beyond the Baby Babble to give you all a sense of what to expect in the book. Curiously enough, the book itself now functions as a time capsule or a journal that I can revisit with my daughter when she’s a little older. She’ll have a better sense of the chaos she wreaked on her dear old dad.

The original goal with the vlog, or at least the one that emerged after a few episodes, was to put together one new video every week for one whole year. It was a creative challenge and experiment in what was possible with this platform. Now that I’ve fulfilled my personal commitment to myself, I’m undecided about where to go from here.

Should I keep up with weekly vlogs? Cut back to every two weeks or maybe once a month? They’re a lot of work and it can be hard coming up with ideas sometimes, but I do generally enjoy doing them. What would you do?
