Tech Tuesday: LG G4 Vigor Unboxing Video

It’s a good time to be a budget-conscious smartphone buyer. You don’t necessarily need all the bells and whistles of those top-tier flagship devices when a perfectly capable (and far less expensive) mid-range device will do. Earlier this month, we took a quick look at the ZTE Grand X 2, the full review of which has now been published. Today, we’re turning our attention to another affordable option in the LG G4 Vigor.

Every company has its flagship devices that showcase the very best of what they have to offer, and then they have the rest of lineup with features trickling their way down. LG is no exception. If you want the best of the best, then you’ll likely want the LG G4. If you want to spend less, they you might look to the LG G4 Vigor. It’s the cheaper version with a few key compromises.

Yes, this phone is made of plastic, it boasts a mere 1.5GB of RAM, and it gets a less powerful processor. On the upside, you still get LTE up to 150Mbps, Android 5.1 Lollipop, and an 8MP camera on the back with laser autofocus and a manual mode. The 5.2-inch IPS display offers a full HD 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution too. That sounds pretty decent for a phone you can get for $0 on contract, though I wouldn’t be as convinced to spend the $350 to buy it outright.

Check out my feature overview and unboxing video below of the LG G4 Vigor. As usual, the full review will follow shortly on MEGATechNews pretty soon. If you’re wondering about that camera, I snapped a few shots at PNE over the weekend and they’re not bad at all.
