Captain America

It pains me to say that I have yet to watch Age of Ultron. I know. I know. There are probably some strings on me. If you have had the chance to watch the latest Avengers movie and you’re itching for some more superhero action, you’re in luck. Marvel Universe LIVE! is coming to Vancouver next month and they’re celebrating by hosting a special costume contest.

Scheduled to start at 5pm on Wednesday, June 10th, the Marvel Universe costume contest will take place at Pacific Coliseum Plaza on the PNE fairgrounds. They say that this will be the “largest gathering of Marvel costumed characters Vancouver has ever seen,” so even if you’re not dressing up as Iron Man or Captain America yourself, you can witness the civil war between all these cosplayers.

Even though they say this is going to be a costume contest and there are going to be prizes for the winners, you don’t have to be the best to walk away with something great. The first 300 people to arrive at Pacific Coliseum Plaza dressed up in a full Marvel character costume will receive a free ticket to the opening night performance. Regular tickets are anywhere from $30 to $115, plus fees.

In addition to the costume contest itself, the evening’s festivities will also include the chance for you to meet some of the performers from the show and to play some of the Super Hero-themed challenges. There’s also a Marvel Super Hero Selfie Station, should you feel so inclined. And yes, there will be free swag and the chance to win VIP tickets too.

Marvel Universe LIVE! in Vancouver runs from June 18 to June 21.
