Las Vegas

Many people know me as a “tech blogger,” since I write about smartphones, tablets, cameras, game consoles and other consumer electronics. And as part of my duties as a “tech blogger,” I attend trade trade shows and industry events, allowing me to keep up with the cutting edge of technology.

I attended my first CES in 2008 and I’ve been returning to Las Vegas every year since then. This means that the International CES 2014, where I am right now, will be my seventh year. Some of this will be old hat — I’m fully expecting to see the battle of who has the biggest and thinnest 4K Ultra HDTV yet again — but there is always something new and exciting to find at the show.

It’s going to be a very busy week, filled with tons of appointments with the different vendors and manufacturers. I’ll be doing a lot of running around, taking pictures, and conducting interviews for MEGATechNews.com, so be sure to keep your tabs on MTN for our news coverage and upcoming videos. By all indications, 2014 is going to be a particularly big year for mobile and for wearables. This could finally be the year of smartwatches and Google Glass.

And this also represents a great opportunity for me to meet up with my fellow tech journalists, who I typically only see in person at trade shows like this. If you’re also at Vegas and would like to meet up, drop me a line and we’ll see what we can do.

And yes, just as I’ve done before, I hope to return home with some fun swag that I can then give away to a lucky Beyond the Rhetoric reader. Will it be you?
