A Seasonal Haiku

April 25th, 2011 by Michael Kwan

Cherry Blossoms near Metrotown

I have a few extra things on my plate this week, so I’m going to keep today’s post a little shorter than usual. It’s been a while since I’ve really dabbled in poetry, so here is a quick haiku I wrote to celebrate the season. Happy Easter Monday!

The sun is shining.
But rain keeps falling on me.
Spring in Vancouver.

Go ahead and express yourself through a haiku of your own in the comment section below! General rule is three lines of five syllables, seven syllables, and five syllables, respectively. (Purists will say they’re moras and not syllables, but let’s not get into that right now.) If there are enough submissions, I might have a prize for the best one!
