Dine Out Vancouver: Raincity Grill
February 7th, 2011 by Michael KwanWhile I usually go to several restaurants during Dine Out Vancouver each year, I only went to Raincity Grill this year. Located at 1193 Denman Street next to English Bay, Raincity Grill is owned by Harry Kambolis. He also happens to be the owner of C Restaurant and Nu Restaurant and Lounge. This is quite the impressive portfolio, wouldn’t you say?
For Dine Out Vancouver 2011, Raincity Grill stuck to a “local, farm-to-table menu.” I’m not sure if it adheres to the “100 mile diet,” but it has to be pretty darn close.
Hannah Brook Farms Squash Soup
With toasted sunflower seeds and creme fraiche
Campagne Terrine
Sloping Hills pork and dijon creme fraiche
Crispy Rossdown Farms Chicken Confit
With organic lentils, roast carrots, parsnip, and apple thyme jus
Pemberton Meadows Beef
Braised with caramelized onions and parmesan
Salish Gallo Mussels and BC Ling Cod Bouillabaise
With tomato, fennel, and garlic
Preserved Peach Cobbler
With sour cream ice cream
Overall, I found the food quality to be very good and service, while a little on the slow side, was attentive and friendly. I’ll be back.

The snaps make full of water mouth. Today I’ll go Rewari sweets. But here i wanna say that always choose best quality hotel to keeps one’s healthy….
While that is a lot of courses, I’m sure that the portion size makes it fun to eat.
It’s actually a three-course dinner. I just took pictures of the dishes of my dinner companions too.
Well then I would have shared, did you taste test each others? My favorite just visually is the Crispy Rossdown Farms Chicken Confit . Although the soup looks like a tempting starter. Today I had Southwestern Chicken Chile Soup for lunch. Kinda a chowder with corn, chicken and some good “chile” flavor.
I tried some of the soup (the sunflower seeds made for a nice contrast) and the chicken (very crispy). I didn’t try the beef though.
