I kept thinking that the guy who played the Comedian was Javier Bardem (I found out later that it’s actually Jeffrey Dean Morgan), but the two actors definitely look alike

I read the Watchmen graphic novel years ago and I think that it made the movie experience more enjoyable.

The Legend of Chun-Li is the lowest rating I’ve given, as far as I can remember. It was that bad (and not bad in a good way).

Sin City and Watchmen have a totally different artistic style. The blood is (a little) more realistic in Watchmen, whereas Sin City has huge gushes of monochromatic blood. I think it would help to read the novels first, but it’s not necessary. You can read them later to fill in the gaps (I plan to do that at some point).

I’ve never read the original graphic novels of Watchmen, should I read it before I go watch the movie? What’s your recommendation?

I’ve watched Sin City, so I roughly know what to expect from Watchmen.

Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li is probably the lowest rated movie I’ve seen in your movie reviews posts.

I have not seen The Spirit, but I did see Sin City. Watchmen has a similar “dark” atmosphere, but artistic style and characters are wholly different. Watchmen is more grounded in reality, even though it’s an alternate reality with a giant glowing blue man with no clothes on.

On the release date I sent out a tweet asking for reviews and I got some replies which said: one might only enjoy the plot/film by having previous background on the story. I thought otherwise too! My anticipation to go see Watchmen has revived now.

Did you ever watch The Spirit? If so, were there any similarities?
