Please pardon my temporary immaturity for a moment, but I really couldn’t help myself.

As I noted a couple of months ago, I am the proud owner of an Xbox 360. Along the way, I’ve picked up a small handful of titles, but I have yet to fully immerse myself in the Xbox Live experience. Maybe that’s a good thing, because earlier this week, Microsoft pushed out the New Xbox Experience (NXE for short). This involved a completely revamped user interface and a few other notable changes.

One of the new features is the introduction of Xbox Avatars, which are basically the Xbox 360 equivalents of the Mii characters found on the Nintendo Wii. While fiddling with my Avatar, I realized that I could manipulate him in some interesting ways. By shaking his head, I could make him angry. By getting him to nod, I could make him happy. By swirling his head around, I could make him dizzy.

After mentioning this on Twitter, I got a response from Danny Dang, telling me that I could get my Xbox Avatar to burp by pressing the right analog stick. Further exploration yielded the festive video embedded below. Too bad there aren’t any holiday-themed outfits (yet). Otherwise, I may have dressed him up as Santa or Frosty.
