I can't remember the last time I bought a lottery ticket. I occasionally get scratch-offs as gifts (in birthday cards, for example) and, if I win anything, which hasn't ever been more than a couple bucks, I might push my luck and use them for additional scratch-offs. Sometimes, I'll just keep the money.

At any rate, if I were to somehow win the lottery, I would (a) pay off all debts, (b) build my dream house, (c) invest in a diversified manner and (d) use some money for some of the things I've always wanted!

I'd still do some work, but I'd be hiring people to do the work I don't like to do so that I can focus on what I enjoy doing!

If I win $20 million....

I will quit my job and travel the world extensively to experience different cultures of the world and see Mother Nature before global warming overwhelm her.

I'll definitely set aside a portion for investment and live off the passive income.

There's no worries about how to occupy the free time since I'll no longer be working for the man. With such abundance wealth, I'm sure I'll have a happy problem of so many hobbies to pursue but too little time.

"Thump"!!!!

I've fallen back to earth, back to reality.

Great post .. got to suspend reality for a few minutes.

I'd move to Madrid for a year, then slowly discover the rest of Europe, then the rest of the world.

How well I lived would depend on how much I won. I think $300K a year would allow me a nice lifestyle. I think the Lotto folks sent me an alert that it's way up there this week, so I may as well dream big.

Since I'm travelling, no need to spend large coin on real estate in Vancouver, and I can always rent a car when I'm back.

If I won the lottery.....

Trip, pay off debts, housing in various locations (well maybe not).. and large sum into investments!

$20M would be relatively easy for me to spend since I like expensive toys and traveling etc, so to ensure I can't spend it all I'd invest and live off the interest I think.

Would I stop working? Temporarily so I could travel a bit first but I would need to go back to work else I am sure I'd go mental or bored or both without some sort of task. Would I work for who I work for now if I didn't really need to work? Sure why not but would my work ethic drop because I didn't need the money?
