Welcome to another edition of What’s Up Wednesdays, your weekly round-up of fantastic posts from the blogosphere. Today’s speedlink is dedicated to the fairer sex. They’re our mothers, our girlfriends, our wives, and our daughters… and they’re also some of the better bloggers out there too. Don’t forget to show your appreciation to the special women in your life!

Part of the inspiration for this post comes from Enkay Blog where you will find the top 100 female blogger list. If you happen to be a lady and you blog, you might want to see if you made the list. Did you make the cut? (And yes, I know that the dude from Enkay Blog is a dude, but his post fits perfectly into today’s theme.)

Rebecca Bollwitt, who you may know better as Miss604, is probably one of the better known Vancouver bloggers. She’s been getting all sorts of mainstream attention lately, getting featured in everything from the 24 Hrs. newspaper to the Lab with Leo. Rebecca also got some airtime on CBC television where she defended Surrey and Surrey girls. Right on!

Jennifer Mattern from All Freelance Writing asks if freelance writers are working themselves to death. I’m all too familiar with the issue of burnout and Jennifer explores this notion a little further by discussing how many hours you should work as a freelance writer. Is seven days a week a bit much? I think so.

Lisa Jones from Instant Gratification Girl has had quite a week. Now that she is back working full-time, her husband has suddenly taken on the responsibilities of Mr. Mom. He’s taking the kids to ice skating and the zoo, but Gary doesn’t seem to have the same intuition and know-how of a real mom. That said, “he’s sure a great DAD!”

Maki of Dosh Dosh has always had something interesting to say and even a post about how to say nothing in 500 words captivated my interest from beginning to end. Inside, you’ll find critical strategies to make your writing unique, entertaining, and powerful.

On a completely unrelated note, I got a message from Mike Huang (and Michelle) about the pending sale of Bloggin-Ads.com. He and his wife just don’t have time for it anymore, so the site has been posted up for sale on Sitepoint. Good luck to Mike, Michelle, and the eventual buyer.
