Telus World Ski & Snowboard Festival: A Retrospective
April 19th, 2008 by Michael Kwan
As you may recall, I was up at Whistler-Blackcomb last weekend for the Telus World Ski & Snowboard Festival. The festival is home to one huge outdoor concert series, several ski and snowboard competitions, vendor booths with free stuff, and the legendary Whistler nightlife that we all know and love. The festival runs through to tomorrow (Sunday), so you still have a chance to watch a few free concerts and take advantage of the Whistler-Blackcomb slopes.
While up at Whistler, I had the chance to attend an outdoor concert with illScarlett and the press badge got me primo seats for the Big Air Competition. We also convinced Stephen Fung to go for a ride, but that’s not where his guinea pig duties would end. Not by a long shot.
In the video embedded below, I take you for a quick stroll through the Telus World Ski & Snowboard Festival 2008. Check out the Kokanee girls as they try to recruit a new Kokanee ranger. Live the rock star lifestyle vicariously through some of the live performances by bands on the big stage. Watch as Stephen Fung gets soaked from head to toe in an extreme weather simulator (he looks way too much like Kenny from South Park). There’s even a bonus edition of the Dot Com Kitchen, followed by an appearance by a fire dancer. Dragonforce would be pleased. Through the fire and flames!
The music in the compilation video was provided by my good friend Chadio. Check out his MySpace page for more sick rhymes.
Roll film!

What was that horrible noise during dot com kitchen whistler edition? It sounded like a squirrel or raccoon choking on something!
