You’re right, Michael, you’ve got to take the job seriously. I often find that people are disparaging about writing as a career, until they find out that you can earn real money with it. Of course, I do it because I love it, in spite of occasional jobs from hell and burnout, and I wouldn’t do anything else or go back to working for someone else.
