Welcome to another edition of What’s Up Wednesdays, your much needed break from from the mid-week blahs. Today we look at some rather exotic food, a new place to get some BIC pens, and rules that should be posted in all schools. And then there’s more.

Gdog from The Daily Kimchi decided to be even more adventurous what what he chose to put in his mouth this week, scarfing down some delicious live baby octopus. Following that link, you will be treated not only to pictures, but also several videos of squirming tentacles. And yes, they stick to the sides of his mouth and attach themselves to the end of this tongue. It doesn’t get any fresher than that.

Kumiko from Cash Quests talks about different ways that you can get targeted traffic to you blog by simply being nice. Somewhere in the discussion, she mentions the potential kickback (or linkback, as the case may be) of buying someone a beer. I know it worked for Kumiko and Dan Rua when they bought me a brew.

From the same people that brought you 1234 Pens comes a new website that specializes in BIC promotional pens. We all know how much branding means to the North American populace, so when you buy a set of promo pens to give out at trade shows, job fairs, or whatever, you might be better off getting some BIC pens with your company logo on it. I wonder if I should get some Beyond the Rhetoric pens…

I won a contest some time back from TomLeDree.com and the grand prize was a featured review on his site. Well, the posted review of Beyond the Rhetoric seems to indicate that I’ve got some good stuff going on around here. He says, “Defiantly worth a read. I really love the unique and stylish writing style. The content is fun, practical and upbeat.” I didn’t realize that I was defiantly worth a read. Am I really sticking it to the man by become a self-employed freelance writer?

Last but definitely not least, Matt Robinson from the Think Referrals Blog Network put up 11 rules that should be posted in all schools and workplaces. Because, you know, ten just isn’t enough. I find that many younger people these days have a huge sense of entitlement, and thus rule #3 particularly resonates with me: “You will NOT make $60,000 a year right out of high school and you won’t be a vice-president of a company until you earn both.”

And that’s what’s up on this Wednesday, July 18th.
