Contra 4 DS Gameplay Video
July 13th, 2007 by Michael KwanIt’s Contra… on the Nintendo DS… and it’s awesome. They’ve even got the freaking old school music in there! Contra is easily known as being one of the best (if not the best) side-scrolling shooting game of all time. And it will soon be portable. I wonder if the Konami code will work.

Oh man, Contra definitely rocks. I just got the Konami Classics for DS…which has old school Contra in all it’s glory! Also, Rush ‘N Attack, which was one of my favorite arcade classics. I can’t wait for Contra DS to come out. Do you have a DS, Michael?

As you can tell, I’m a total Nintendo fanboy. I very rarely play with the PSP, though I do play Virtua Fighter 5 on the PS3 quite often and I enjoy Resistance: Fall of Man (but I suck at it).

DUDE!! I’m a Nintendo fan too! I owned every system also, and even my classic Nintendo still works! I still play Punch Out, and Mike keeps kicking my ass every time. 007 373 5963!
Contra looks amazing. Just think of what a side-scrolling Contra would look like on the PS3? Or how you could intereact with it on the Wii?
I haven’t owned every system… I stayed far, far away from the travesty known as the Virtual Boy.
If you want a Contra-like experience on the Wii with Wii controls, you might want to check out Metal Slug Anthology (Metal Slug was “inspired” by Contra).
Contra was one of the best Nintendo games ever. That and Bo Jackson’s baseball!
