Minutes to Midnight is a weeeird album. I like 'Valentine's Day''Given Up' and I dare say, 'In Between'. But overall, the essential LP has been lost. Gone. Sailed away. Hybrid Theory was the best album they had ('Crawling' anyone?). They followed up the style with Meteora but completely lost the plot with Minutes to Midnight.
Change is good but not at the expense of what has been established. I shudder to think what they will hit us with next.

[...] I had the opportunity to listen through all the tracks on Graduation and my overall impression is that it is significantly more mellow and “slow” than songs that I have heard from Kanye West in the past. You don’t get New Workout Plan or Gold Digger. Instead, you get cameo appearances by guys like Chris Martin from Coldplay. The sound is definitely different and innovative, and I suppose I should have expected this from Kanye all along. What follows is a track-by-track review of Graduation, much like what I did with Linkin Park: Minutes to Minute. [...]

Clearly we have lost our taste for decent music. So you people think good music is someone screaming their heart out into a mike? Go get something like Slipknot if you want that. If you listen to LP's songs clearly - especially the 'soft' songs, there is actually a meaning to their songs.

I think it is much easier to write a heavy riff and scream your lungs out than to write an enjoyable, thoughtful song. This record is a pleasant surprise.

Linkin Park is for mainstream fan boys with no taste in Music. You might as well listen to the Backstreet Boys or Nsync.

Yeah, I've got to agree with you for the most part about LP. Loved their early stuff, the last two... not so much. That's the case for a lot of bands though. At least for me.
