The Enemy of My Enemy is My Friend

If the root of all evil is to be believed, Microsoft is going to buy Yahoo! in a deal worth an estimated $50 billion. Both Yahoo! and Microsoft have lost a significant amount of business (and revenue) to Google… will this merger/relationship be enough to overthrow the G-Meister?

      impossible. Google is still and will be still the best choice for advertisers unless Microsoft pulls off that 70% of internet users around the world using Google.

      Frankly, i dont think this is going to happen (Yahoo stock price initially rose on the reports and then gave back most of its gains) and i would like to Yahoo and Amazon or Yahoo and a social networking site like facebook team up to increase their brand awareness.

      It’s certainly not impossible. However, the WSJ is now reporting that the talks are NOT ongoing. I hope it still goes through because we need someone to compete with Google but I’m not holding my breath.

    4. Google’s domination is not good news for consumers. Being faced with potentially only the one alternative is even worse news.

      I don’t think it would change the market share too much (from a user point of view). They will most likely keep them both as is, but maybe with a little more linking up here and there to network traffic. Bring on the competition…

      even if Microsoft think everything can de bought with money..well they are about to regret this aquisition
